    Nikita

Maggie Q as Nikita, a brand new TV series showing in US now. So far, the first few episodes have all what I expected a series like this to be, hot scenes of Maggie Q, action, conspiracies and some dry humour. It shows promise, compared to the Dollhouse, which was a total letdown.

Will follow closely and see where this TV series leads to.

    Lie To Me

So Dollhouse did not turn out as I expected. My mei recommended another TV series, Lie to Me.

I am hooked on it. Basically it is a series about a human lie detector. He can tell if someone is lying through body language. He seems to have a sad background, as the story so far hints of it. And there are already suggestions of the inner demons he has since he knows who is lying to him, including the ones closest to him.

The plot so far is interesting, and the character development is going on fine, though not as good as Bones. Action is virtually non-existent, no car chases, no explosions and so forth. It is a series basically carried by the dialogue, the plot and the actors themselves. Tim Roth, the lead actor, plays the ‘broken hero’ character well, bringing up comparison between him and another British actor, Hugh Laurie, of the show House M.D., another TV series that I love. I really hope this series gets extended for another season.

I wonder how it is like to be able to tell if someone is lying to you or not. Imagine your spouse lies to you, and you know it, or your children lying to you about going to the library to study, or your boss lying to you about you doing a good job. Ignorance is bliss, and I am not too sure if I want to know every single time someone lies to me.

    Food for thought.

    Classic TV Series

So I was switching channels on the TV this morning when I caught this show, Ben 10: Race Against Time. I believe it is a live action movie of a cartoon. But what I caught my eye was that the actor playing Grandpa Max looks a lot like Lee Majors.

Lee MajorsAfter verifying with IMDB, I realised it was really him! Lee Majors, the star of the classic 70’s TV show, Six Million Dollar Man and the classic 80’s TV show, The Fall Guy. I especially love The Fall Guy, remembering running to the TV each time it was showing.

I also remember the theme song from the series, and a little Google turned up the lyrics.

Well, I’m not the kind to kiss and tell,
But I’ve been seen with Farrah.
I’m never seen with anything less than a nine, so fine.

I’ve been on fire with Sally Field,
Gone fast with a girl named Bo,
But somehow they just don’t end up as mine.

    It’s a death defyin’ life I lead,
    I take my chances.
I die for a livin’ in the movies and TV.

But the hardest thing I ever do
    Is watch my leadin’ ladies
Kiss some other guy while I’m bandagin’ my knee.
I might fall from a tall building,
I might roll a brand new car.
‘Cause I’m the unknown stuntman that made Redford such a star.

I never spend much time in school
    But I taught ladies plenty.
It’s true I hire my body out for pay, Hey Hey.

I’ve gotten burned over Cheryl Tiegs,
    Blown up for Raquel Welch.
But when I end up in the hay it’s only hay, Hey Hey.

I might jump an open drawbridge,
    Or Tarzan from a vine.
‘Cause I’m the unknown stuntman that makes Eastwood look so fine.

While searching through the theme song, I found the website that had a huge MP3 collection of all the classic TV shows theme songs here.
