Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur 5th May 2010

We did it. We finally broke into the Top 4 and qualify for the Champions League next season by defeating Man City 0 -1. Highlights of the match can be found here.

After enduring years and years of people around me who have been supporting clubs that are in the Champions League, I can finally look forward seeing Spurs in the Champions League next season. Pure joy, pure happiness.

Harry performed a miracle by transforming a club that was at the bottom of the league a 4th position in just 18 months. His man management skills are legendary, he played players to their strengths, and even those that were thought as on the way out of the club became stronger under him. He won the Premier League Manager of the Year and he thoroughly deserved it!

Tottenham Hotspur vs Bolton 1st May 2010

The goal shown above settles the last home match of the season. With Man City also winning, Wednesday will be the deciding match, the match to determine which team will grab the last Champions League slot.

Felt that Spurs was having a very bad of nerves for the last home match, though a wonderful strike by Hudd in the first half settled some of the nerves. I had no more finger nails left in the last 10 minutes of the match.

I do not know if my heart can take it if I watch the Wednesday’s match.

So less than one week after the disappointment of losing in the FA Cup Semis, and three days after the incredible win over our arch rivals, Spurs went one further by beating Chelsea, the current league leaders, at home. And with Man United beating Man City in extra time, the league title is now thrown wide open again.

What a week to be a Spurs fan!

Tottenham vs Arsenal 14th April 2010

I have been a Spurs supporter since 1982. When you have not beaten your arch rivals since 1999, beating them really brings tears to my eyes. 11 years of agony ended. In the process, ended their dreams of winning the league, and boasting our own chances of Champions League next season. Team picking up the pieces after losing in extra-time during the FA Cup Semis. To top it off, a 19 year old’s debut scored a serious goal of the season contender, I mean, these are stuff dreams are made of.
