    Buying A Bicycle

For the past several weeks, partly influenced by mrbrown, partly due to me getting worried over my weight gain, and also the fact that my knees continue to give me so many problems, I have been thinking of getting a bicycle.

For starters, I was thinking of getting a foldable bicycle. The advantages are obvious. I can bring the foldable bicycle and take a bus or a train to somewhere, two places that I have in mind are Lim Chu Kang area and Sentosa, and then if I am feeling tired, I can always take a bus or a train home with the bicycle. With the Land Transport Authority finally approving the Foldable Bicycle Scheme allowing foldable bicycles to be taken on the trains and buses, this sounds like a good plan.

Now once I get used to the foldable bicycle, my next purchase might be a mountain bike. One that can allow me to travel longer distance at a faster speed.

The benefits are there. Besides losing weight and keeping fit, I can do something for the environment.

    This is really very tempting.

    Vietnamese Coffee

Vietnamese Coffee Finally tried the Vietnames Coffee in the Trung Nyguen Vietnamese Coffee outlet at Liang Court. Had passed by it a few times previously but did not find the time to try it.

I asked for the strongest full-bodied coffee that they had, and they recommended the Creative 1.  After waiting for the coffee to drip down the filter (pictured left), I took a sip. There is only one word that can summed up the experience, ‘Shiok!‘.

I regretted when I left without buying their instant coffee. It seems like their G7 Gourmet Instant Coffee is loved by a lot of coffee drinkers. Anyway with the outlet near my house, I can always drop by to get it.

One reminder to myself, never drink this coffee too late in the afternoon or else I will be wide awake the whole night.

    Sentosa Flowers 2009

Since one of my new year resolutions was to take more photographs, I had told myself I will be going to the Sentosa Flowers 2009 event this year. I was a bit apprehensive of going to the Sentosa Flowers today. My mum went on the first day of the Chinese New Year and she was complaining to me about how there was such a long queue, people cutting queue and how rowdy some of them were.

So I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at Vivocity to see a short queue outside the Sentosa counter. All in all, it took me around 15 minutes from Vivocity to Sentosa, including the queue for tickets.

It was not too crowded, and since the only purpose I am going to Sentosa was to take photographs of the flowers, I spent the next 3 hours snapping happily away. It was hot, but I was too engrossed to take notice, only pausing to wonder how they manage to get all the flowers to bloom at the same time. I slowly make my way up Imbiah Lookout, finally reaching the top hot, thirsty and tired. It was only then I realised I should have gone all the way up to the top, then move downhill instead.

The many colours of flowers on display.

All in all, I was quite pleased with the photographs taken, even managing to take some bees in action, my very first nature shots. (For those interested, they can be viewed in the ‘Travel Photos‘ link on the left.
