    That Feeling

A question was asked. I knew the answer in my heart. Before I knew it, I broke into a smile.

And as quickly as it came, the smile was gone. I know that feeling. It is a pleasant feeling that forces me into a smile, a warm feeling that flows through the body. A nice feeling.

I deny it of course. I have reasons to deny it. Lots of it.

It was a familiar scene. Working from morning to night for close to 15 hours, performing planned project activities. It was made easier when my co-workers are cheerful, and knew what they are doing.

However, something was missing. The feeling of being motivated. The drive to succeed and perform well. I accomplished my tasks methodically. Without emotions. And at the end of it, there was no sense of accomplishment. Nothing.

It seems like I have lost the drive. I do not know if it is temporary, or it is gone forever. But if the feeling persists when the economy starts to recover, I will have to seriously consider what I want to do.

I was informed I will be going to Bangkok next week. It will be a demonstration that I am going to show to the top management of the bank. The feeling of screwing it up big time comes back to me again. I get that nagging feeling each time. It gets so bad I was having nightmares of it last night.

Why? I have done this before a few times. It should get easier. But each time I get that feeling that something is going to happen. Something bad. Why?

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Too much feelings nowadays.

    Doom!

Everyday I read the news, I see more bad news. HSBC cutting 6,100 jobs. American International Group reports a fourth quarter loss of US$61.1B, the largest ever in corporate history. Dow Jones fell below 7,000 for the first time since 1997.

And we thought it could not get worst.

And the cause of all this? Greed. Gordon Gekko was so wrong when he said, ‘Greed is good.’.

Can I survive through this? Will I still have a job? How long will this last? How many more companies will fail? Will there be even more bad news? Have we hit the bottom? Or are we just free falling in a bottomless pit?

There is no end in sight.

    Kindle 2

When will they start to offer this in Singapore?

    Kindle 2

No more buying plastic boxes to store my books and magazines, no more heart pain to see all my books turning yellow and musty with age. Now everything is in one gadget that is the thickness of a pencil.

I want one now so badly.

    Earth Hour 2009

For the first time this year, Singapore is taking part in the Earth Hour 2009.

What started off as a campaign in Sydney in 2007 has turned into a global movement that has 50 million people in 35 countries participating last year. I joined in last year, and I am definitely doing it again this year. It is simple. Just turn off all the lights for 1 hour at 8.30pm, showing that it is possible to join together as a global effort to take action on global warming.

    Just Like Sam

Everytime there is a horrific tragedy, no matter how terrible it is, some miracle will happen amidst that seems to tell everyone there no matter how bad it is, there is still hope. It is almost like somehow there is a divine intervention just to drive that message across.

I hear of people who survived for a few days in a trapped building, I hear of people who survived for a few days drifting in the sea after a giant tsunami, and now I hear of a koala bear who survived the worst bush fire ever in Australia.

Sam, the koala bear, was found by a fire fighter who stopped his fire truck in order to rescue her.  The fire fighter gave her water to drink, she grabbed his hand and promptly drank 3 bottles of water. Her paws were burnt, and is now currently recovering in an animal shelter. The picture shown above has since captured the hearts of millions around the world.

Watching the video, I am inspired. I can tell myself, no matter how bad the situation is, there is always small pockets of miracle. There is always hope. Just like Sam.
