Gossips

I was remarking to my colleague that most of the conversations that I overhead in the public, either over meals, or in the trains or buses, or just on the road, are gossips.

It is usually someone who is doing something bad, or someone at work that is not doing his/her part, or someone having an affair with someone, or someone hating someone. I have yet to hear of people actually proclaiming their admiration or love for someone in the public.

Are we just mean or it makes a better conversation topic to gossip about others?

I think it depends on the person. I know people who don’t start bitching the minute they open their mouth.

Mayhaps you only tune in to certain conversations? Smirk.
